The Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will release the findings of a new study that analyzes the potential economic benefits of a Revitalized Salton Sea during the 2018 SoCal Energy Water + Green Living Summit.
The study, conducted by Tourism Economics, analyzes the potential economic benefits of a future revitalized Salton Sea in two phases: at the end of the current proposed 10-Year Plan, as well as a future scenario that outlines the hypothetical benefits of going beyond the 10-Year Plan to a fully revitalized Sea by 2042. This newest study augments a 2016 study the CVB commissioned that studied the economic impact on tourism with the continued decay of the Salton Sea without mitigation efforts.
